COMMUNIQUE - Fraudulent MauBank Profiles and Online Scams

MauBank Ltd wishes to alert its customers and the general public of fraudulent activity currently circulating on various digital platforms, including fake profiles impersonating the bank, and misleading messages that falsely claim to represent MauBank.

These deceptive practices are designed to trick individuals into sharing personal or banking information or making unauthorised transactions. The bank strongly condemns these malicious attempts and reiterate that such communications do not originate the institution.

What to Watch Out For:

MauBank has identified several ongoing fraudulent activities, including:

  • Fake social media profiles or pages using MauBank’s name, logo, or imagery
  • False messages promising loan approvals, financial aid, or rewards in the Bank’s name
  • Requests for personal or banking information under false pretences (e.g., account verification or urgent action)
  • Suspicious links redirecting users to unofficial websites or online forms

Stay Safe – Important Security Reminders:

MauBank will never ask for confidential or personal information like username, password or OTP via social media
messages, SMS, Whatsapp or even phone calls.
